Raft the Hudson!!
Students in Hamilton County have the opportunity to raft a world-class river with friends or students from other schools. When you sign up for 17 miles of pure fun and adventurous class III & IV rapids, you will get a lifetime of memories to share with friends and family. Trips are offered during the summer vacation months and at a super discounted price. Students must be 10 years old and up and in good health. .
Canoeing in the Adirondacks!!
Whether it is flat-water rivers, ponds or lakes, you are guaranteed to have fun and even get wet on these trips. Hamilton County is home to some of our favorite spots like the West Branch of the Sacandaga, the Kunjamuk in Speculator, Indian Lake and Blue Mountain Lake. With so much water to explore and new places to discover, the only thing we could wish for is a longer summer. Students must be comfortable swimming with a PFD on and willing to paddle at least 1 mile. Some of our trips are combined with hikes and we also collaborate with Wells' Summer Youth Program and the Indian Lake Summer Earth Club to provide canoe outings.
If you like challenges and want to explore new heights, this is the activity for you. On these trips we utilize various climbing sights in and around Hamilton County. Each site provides a wide range of climbing grades for all abilities and comfort levels. "Challenge by Choice" is the principle we practice as we have many participants who come on our trips and are happy just watching or learning to belay other students. Trips are offered year round with winter trips at regional indoor climbing gyms.
Other great adventures could be horseback riding, ropes courses, rappelling, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing or snowboarding. Check out our website calendar for scheduled trips or e-mail us with ideas for new ones.
